European Commission AI Gigafactories tender: €10 billion public funding for up to seven facilities

The European Commission launched a tender in July 2026 for up to seven AI Gigafactories, with up to €10 billion in EU and national public funding expected to mobilise at least €20 billion in private investment, for a total expected investment of over €30 billion. The call closes on 12 November 2026, selections are expected in early 2027, and deployment is expected within 18 months of contract signing.
